We are a home-based business located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our transcription team consists of three full-time persons who speak English as their first language (home language).

We have many titles for the work that we do: transcriber, transcriptionist, typist, dictaphone typist, transcript typist, as well as "the typing lady". The correct term is transcriptionist although the term "transcriber" seems to be the one used most often. So that's what we are - transcriptionists.

We transcribe audio and video files, in other words, we convert audio to text through the process of transcription. So, you record your information by means of a digital recorder, PC, laptop or PDA; you save and send this audio or video file to us. Confidentiality

All transcription and typing work is treated with the highest degree of confidentiality. Our confidentiality undertaking will be sent to you prior to the commencement of your transcription project. Arrangements can be made to return an encrypted transcript to you via email or by means of an internet transfer with 128-bit SSL encryption. This transfer facility is HIPAA compliant (United States).

Our transcription and typing services cater to South African clients as well as international clients. We receive work from clients in England, Germany, Scotland, Australia, Canada and the United States.

There is a lot of research work taking place in South Africa at the moment. As we have lived in South Africa our entire lives, we are familiar with the different accents with which English is spoken in South Africa. We undertake English transcription work with some Afrikaans input.
