Transcript indicators (frequently called notation) are the various symbols and abbreviations used by transcriptionists to indicate specific voice, noise or other occurrences that occur in an audio file. For example, a short pause is indicated by means of an ellipsis (...) and a long dash (—) indicates an interruption. Although indicators are mostly self-explanatory, a full list of Etranscript's indicators will be emailed to you along with your first completed transcript.
